Description
TARGET GIRL
Why? You think I'm strange? My job is dangerous? Hmm...maybe I'm strangerous. I like that. I might use that word now that I've invented it.
I trust the knifethrower. It is just that simple. Do you trust your manager? Your co-workers? Your relatives? Am I so strange? People throw knives at your back each and every day. At least I turn around and see them coming!
I visited 77 cities this year and got paid for it! You had to settle for a drive to Winnemuca where the kids were bored, you felt tacky, and your spouse lost $2000 in the casino. Your spirit was not refreshed.
People buy a ticket to have me step into their comfort zone and create a major emotional disturbance. They watch me with great anticipation. They flinch and scream. They applaud throughout my workday. My make-up and work clothes are gorgeous, exotic and sparkly! How's that sensible pantsuit working out for you as you sit in your cubicle? Hear any applause in there? Are you working overtime in there to pay off the vacation debt? Isn't vacation supposed to be the act of vacating? Instead, you only got to dig a trench and bury your dreams a little deeper.
Speaking of vacating, I must take my leave. Three shows in Austin tomorrow, then off to New Orleans. I just can't wait for Miami next week! Ta-Ta!
